Harnessing AI for Modern Software Development
On Friday, I oriented my team about AI-driven development, discussing key concepts, benefits, risks, and personal case studies. We engaged in thoughtful discussions, highlighting shared concerns. I emphasized that while they can choose not to use AI tools, expectations for developers will increasingly shift towards their adoption. A recorded session is available.
On Friday I gave my team some orientation on my recent experiences of AI driven development. We covered concepts, dos and don’ts, benefits and risks, covered some personal case studies, as well as discussing on what this would mean for the team and for them going forward.
We had some good intelligent discussion, and I was comforted that they had many of the same “oh shit…” moments I had. They also understood that, even if they chose not to use the tools, going forward it will increasingly be expected that developers will be using these tools, and expectations of capacity and timescales will adjust accordingly.
Anyway, I’ve recorded another take (late on Friday, so forgive my tiredness, I’m self medicating for an unfortunate cracked rib), which I hope you will find useful.
